About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Gourmet Busser’s primary responsibility is to assist the Gourmet Food Servers in serving guests while providing courteous and prompt tableside service to all guests. Must keep a clean work station and ensure guest satisfaction. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures, as well as the Plaza’s standards. This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee in this position. The incumbent is expected to perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the department.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of previous experience as a Bus/Runner working in a similar resort setting.
  • At least 1 year of previous Food and Beverage experience in a fast-paced environment with food service experience.
  • Ability to balance and carry a cocktail tray loaded with glassware
  • Ability to respond properly to simple questions concerning the style of cuisine and basic food knowledge
  • Ability to describe, discuss, and answer questions related to coffee, tea, and water varieties
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
  • Food Handlers Card
  • Alcohol Awareness Card
  • Must have the physical ability to access all areas of the facility; move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects; withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing at least 50 lbs. without restriction.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure; work indoors and outdoors, as well as being exposed to hot/cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors; however, there are events where outdoor activities are required. Indoor temperatures are moderate and controlled by internal environmental systems.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and noisy environment.

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
  • Previous Hospitality Experience

Responsibilities

  • Set up bus tubs for the removal of dishware from the dining area. Ensure separation of china, glasses, and silverware into the correct bus tubs and place each tub in its respective area upon entering the dishwashing area
  • Set and reset tables before, during, and after service periods
  • Stack and stock of side stations, with dry goods, extra china settings, and silverware
  • Pre-bus and bus tables during service period; assist servers with service steps where necessary
  • Assist Food Servers with carrying food trays and serving guests when necessary
  • Ensure bus tubs are kept level and not filled to overflowing with glassware and dishware
  • Refill condiments as necessary
  • Buff/polish glass and silverware where necessary
  • Set up an ad breakdown of side stations before and after service
  • Remove debris (napkins, straws, etc.) from the floors, as necessary
  • Maintain general cleanliness in side stations during service periods
  • Load/unload linens when necessary
  • Work as a team, assisting all guests and employees needs and inquiries
  • Effectively communicate with management, chefs, and culinary staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees
  • Behave in a positive, professional manner that reflects Play LV practices
  • Display knowledge of all emergency procedures
  • Inform managers on duty of any Team Member of guest opportunities
  • Have detailed knowledge of the facility and its amenities
  • Have a complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items
  • Be aware of activities in the dining room, including but not limited to the service standards being used, the bussing of tables, station assignments, special functions, the presence of executives, and the availability or unavailability of particular items
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested
