About The Position
The Golf Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Rolling Meadows Golf Course in Junction City, Kansas. This position involves a variety of technical, administrative, and supervisory tasks aimed at ensuring the effective management and maintenance of the golf course. The Golf Superintendent will plan, organize, direct, and implement all functions related to the golf course, including training and safety activities for the staff. This role requires a strong focus on achieving operational goals within the available resources while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. In this position, the Golf Superintendent will manage and supervise all maintenance operations of the golf course. This includes planning and organizing workloads, assigning staff duties, and ensuring that all tasks are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Superintendent will also be responsible for training, motivating, and evaluating staff, as well as reviewing their progress and making necessary adjustments to improve performance. Financial management is a key aspect of this role, as the Golf Superintendent will be tasked with ensuring that all operations are conducted within budgetary constraints. This includes performing cost control activities, monitoring revenues and expenditures, and preparing annual budget requests. The Superintendent will also provide advice and make presentations to various stakeholders, including supervisors, boards, and civic groups, to communicate plans and policies effectively. Additionally, the Golf Superintendent will coordinate activities with other departments, develop short- and long-range goals, and prepare reports and studies to support decision-making processes. The role requires strong leadership skills to guide the staff and ensure that all maintenance and construction activities are executed smoothly in collaboration with the Clubhouse Manager. The Superintendent will also be responsible for maintaining the golf course's equipment and responding to public inquiries regarding operations.
