About The Position

Assist in the daily operation of golfer needs which include but not limited to first tee hosting, beginning play in a timely fashion, pace of play, enforcement, ember service requests, Starter Shack opening and closing duties, assisting with group play and assist in all areas of Club Membership if needed. This position is Member and Guest forward, and professionalism, courtesy, urgency and eye contact are a must. Please note that the Starter area is typically the first and last people most Members and Guests see while experiencing the Club.

Requirements

Golf knowledge required.
Be polite and courteous to members, guests and coworkers.
Be a team player to fellow staff.
Maintain effective communication skills, attention to detail, driven to go above and beyond expectations.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be active on your feet along with long periods of standing.
Outdoor work is required.

Responsibilities

Supervise the daily operation of the Starter / Ranger Areas.
Follow these 3 DMGCC Rules: Acknowledge members / guests when they arrive. Ask member / their needs and assist them. Thank them when they leave.
Control flow of golfers onto tees based on starting time sheets.
Monitor golf course traffic and coordinate starting times.
Responsible for computer data entry regarding players and cart and beverage usage.
Responsible to ensuring all players are properly dressed. No denim.
Provide ample supply of tees, pencils, scorecards, cups, lids and straws.
Maintain starter area in a neat and tidy manners and ensure cleanliness at all times.
May be directed to work in the Ranges as directed by the Golf Shop.
Inform member / guest about red stake policy and slow play policy.
Turn in daily tee sheets with daily notes.
Inventory and stock cooler daily.
Submit all member purchase from cooler daily.
