To provide friendly, courteous and knowledgeable service to all members, in the area of golf merchandise, equipment, cart rentals, green fees, and driving range. To make all members feel welcome when in the golf shop. Essential Functions Assist golf shop staff as required. Answer phone calls, make tee times, take messages, give correct information, and follow up if necessary. Be knowledgeable about all functions of the golf shop, such as tee times, counter operations, tournaments, etc. Assist members with all of their sales needs. Order merchandise as needed for members and see the order through to completion. This includes phoning the vendor to check on the item, calling the member to inform them of the status and then receiving the item, ticketing, charging the member, and calling the member to let them know if has been received. Inform Director of Golf of any members interested in purchasing golf equipment. Straighten and fold merchandise at the end of each shift. Display merchandise throughout the shop in an appealing and attractive manner. Must have a good personality with ability to relate to the members and get along with fellow employees. Must be knowledgeable of club rules for guests, carts, and times of play, and dress code. Be supportive of the Director of Golf and all the golf programs. Attend staff meetings, to stay up on all tournament information and rules. Exhibit a cooperative attitude and work well with fellow employees, in a friendly manner. Always dress in a professional manner, clothes neatly pressed, hair neatly combed and trimmed, shoes shined, clean-shaven, mustache neatly trimmed. Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times. Help with stocking inventory and golf shop merchandise arrangements as needed. Promote goodwill and provide exceptional service to members and guests. Promote teamwork, professionalism and camaraderie towards all employees. Check in merchandise upon arrival from UPS. Take inventory and re-arrange shop as needed. Know all lines and products sold in the golf shop. Must be knowledgeable about sizes and fabrics. Sell merchandise to members. Assist in tee times, and be knowledgeable on method used. Prepare items for alterations. Check on their completion and be sure they are picked up on time. Charge appropriately. Be sure all outgoing UPS packages are given to UPS personnel daily or as necessary. Clean shop as needed. Empty trash as needed. Check out cash registers, and computer summaries. Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
