Performs a variety of functions in relation to controlling the starting of the game for golf players, educating the public regarding golf etiquette, and routine course keeping. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE: Game of golf, the rules of golf, golf etiquette, and City departmental rules and regulations.SKILL: Demonstrated skill in the operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.ABILITY: Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; tactfully and consistently advise players of rules and regulations, and golf etiquette; maintain positive public relations at all times; function independently with minimal supervision; perform light physical labor; work weekends and holidays. Must have and understand basic computer skills.TRAINING: Thorough knowledge of the game of golf preferred.EXPERIENCE: No specific requirement, but prefer exposure to golf course environment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Control the starting of players; closely follow the pace of play; remind golfers of course rules and etiquette; take tee times according to the reservation policies and complete appropriate paperwork; sell merchandise and collect golf course fees. Assist in any phase of the clubhouse operation as required; i.e., daily housekeeping chores; answer phone calls and address customer needs.Deliver excellent customer service daily. Provide guidance and oversee work or personnel assigned to the area. Perform related work as required and assigned. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
