About The Position

The Golf Shop Assistant plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service to members and guests at American Golf. This position involves managing the pro shop environment, handling transactions, and ensuring a smooth operation of the golf shop. The assistant is also responsible for maintaining the shop's organization and cleanliness, as well as addressing customer service issues effectively. In the absence of the Golf Shop Supervisor, the assistant may take on leadership responsibilities, including training and scheduling other staff members.

Requirements

• Basic math skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
• Experience in handling customer service issues and cash transactions.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Check members and guests in using the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing purchases and credit card transactions.
• Manage the reservation system in accordance with AGC standards.
• Utilize tee sheet demand management strategies to optimize bookings and manage golf play effectively.
• Maintain the pro shop environment by organizing merchandise and assisting with displays.
• Follow corporate guidelines for opening and closing duties, including cash handling responsibilities.
• Handle member and guest service issues promptly and effectively.
• Provide leadership in the absence of the Golf Shop Supervisor, including interviewing and training other assistants.
• Maintain a professional and service-oriented environment in the pro shop.
• Assist the General Manager in delivering staff meetings and implementing AGC initiatives.
