Shanty Creek Resorts is seeking an experienced, instruction-focused Golf Professional to join our team at Schuss Golf Course. This role is ideal for a passionate teacher who enjoys working with golfers of all skill levels through private lessons, group instruction, and clinics. The primary emphasis of this position is teaching and player development. The Golf Professional will create a welcoming learning environment, help golfers improve their skills and confidence, and contribute to Schuss’s reputation as a premier instructional destination in Northern Michigan.
Requirements
- PGA Certified Professional
- Demonstrated experience providing golf instruction to individuals and groups
- Strong understanding of swing mechanics, fundamentals, and player development
Nice To Haves
- Experience leading group clinics or instructional programs
- Knowledge of golf course operations and playing conditions
- Experience supporting golf events or instructional tournaments
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality private and group golf instruction for players of all ages and skill levels
- Design and deliver engaging golf lessons focused on fundamentals, swing mechanics, short game, and course management
- Organize and conduct instructional clinics, workshops, and group programs
- Develop teaching programs that encourage player development, repeat participation, and guest retention
- Maintain strong knowledge of course layout and playing conditions to support effective instruction
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment for all guests
- Collaborate with golf leadership to support instructional programming and promote lesson offerings
