About The Position

As a Golf Pro Shop Attendant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the golf pro shop, providing exceptional customer service to golfers, and assisting with merchandise sales and inventory management. Your responsibilities will include greeting customers, processing transactions, answering inquiries about merchandise and golf course facilities, maintaining cleanliness and organization within the pro shop, and assisting with administrative tasks as needed. Requirements

  • Passion for golf and a genuine interest in the sport.

  • Proficient in time management, adept at meeting deadlines, and capable of adapting to flexible work schedules.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems effectively while maintaining composure in challenging situations.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and engage in activity for extended periods (7 to 8 hours), as well as the ability to climb stairs, reach, and bend as necessary.
  • May occasionally be required to lift objects weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in a retail or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of golf equipment, terminology, and basic golf etiquette preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other computer applications.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry merchandise, and perform light cleaning duties.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards tasks and customer needs.
  • Professional demeanor and a passion for delivering exceptional service to golfers of all skill levels.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly as they enter the pro shop, provide assistance, and answer inquiries about merchandise, golf course amenities, and upcoming events.
  • Process customer purchases accurately using the point-of-sale system, handle cash and credit card transactions, and ensure proper documentation of sales and inventory.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and displaying merchandise, ensuring that shelves and displays are organized, clean, and visually appealing. Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock items.
  • Coordinate rental equipment such as golf clubs, carts, and other accessories, ensuring they are properly maintained, cleaned, and available for customer use.
  • Assist customers with scheduling tee times, providing information on course availability, rates, and any special requirements or restrictions.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, filing paperwork, and maintaining accurate records of sales, inventory, and customer inquiries.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing friendly and knowledgeable assistance, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for customers and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other pro shop staff, golf course personnel, and management to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
