About The Position

Join our amazing team as a Golf Operations Outside Service Supervisor! The Outside Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising all on-course and outside service operations for the Heritage Oaks Classic 18, Legacy 9, and the HOGC Practice Range. This position leads the hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of external service staff, ensuring safe and efficient, guest-focused delivery of on-course services. The Outside Service Supervisor serves as the primary on-course operations leader for daily play, outings, and group play events, and works in coordination with the Golf Operations Manager to support departmental goals. Instruction in youth academy programs may be provided when operational responsibilities are met. Work schedules may vary based on operational needs and include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pay & Schedule: $28.00- $32.00 Per Hour (DOQ) This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position. Schedule will fluctuate with seasonal demand. 40 hours per week in season, 30 hours per week off season.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or golf trade school, including or supplemented by at least three (3) years of supervisor experience.
  • Ability to lead, train, and supervise staff in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Ability to plan and adjust staffing and resources based on play volume and special events
  • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills related to guest service and operations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Golf management systems
  • Working knowledge of tee sheet systems (GolfNow, EZ Links, or similar)
  • Familiarity with golf car GPS systems (Visage or similar)
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license
  • CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Principles and practices of customer service and service recovery in a golf or hospitality environment
  • Golf course operations, including tee sheet management, pace-of-play standards, and player flow
  • Practice range operations and safety standards
  • Outing and tournament operations, including on-course logistics and staffing
  • Golf car fleet operations, GPS systems, and safety compliance
  • Basic budgeting, labor management, and cost control
  • Safety, risk management, and incident reporting procedures

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all outside services and on-course operations for Heritage Oaks Classic 18, Legacy 9, and the practice range, including pace-of-play, guest flow, cart staging, and practice range activity.
  • Recruit, select, hire, train, supervise and evaluate part-time and seasonal staff; monitor and approve time records and overtime, and provide performance feedback and corrective action.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate operating procedures and training programs for all outside services.
  • Manage pace-of-play standards, including staff training, monitoring, reporting, and corrective action when standards are not met.
  • Develop staffing plans and manage labor schedules and operating expenses for outside services, including starters, player assistants, bag drop attendants, range pickers, and outing staff.
  • Serve as the primary on-course liaison for outings, event coordinators, and sponsors to ensure smooth execution of group events.
  • Assist in the development and management of outside services budgets; order operational supplies and monitor inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with Golf Course Maintenance and Facilities regarding course setup, range operations, and equipment repairs.
  • Manage the administration, performance, and safety of the golf car fleet, including GPS systems, inspections, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures for outside service areas and ensure proper security of the facility and equipment.
  • Establish and uphold guest service standards and lead service recovery efforts for on-course issues.
  • Provide on-course player assistance and rules support to enhance the overall golf experience.
  • Support the planning and execution of special events, outings, tournaments, and league play.
  • Reports any work-related or patron injuries, incidents, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor; addresses unsafe conditions as appropriate; completes or reviews incident/accident report forms as needed.
  • Enforce safety rules and operating procedures; address unsafe conditions or behavior and ensure proper reporting and documentation of incidents and injuries.
  • Provide golf instruction through group clinics and private lessons when operational responsibilities are met.
  • Perform all job tasks in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of golf operations.
