About The Position

The Golf Management Internship is a full-time seasonal position that requires functioning in all areas of daily operation including initial reservations, registering for play, administering on course play, and the entire customer service spectrum of the daily guest experience. The internship is estimated to require 40-45 hours per week, with an average of 5 days per week, from April/May to early October 2026.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in the golf course or club industry is preferred.
  • Completed or enrolled in an accredited hospitality or PGM program.
  • Previous experience with golf management software and operating a POS system preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a daily basis.
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to work productively at a desk/computer for 6-8 hours a day.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting all overnight guests and assisting with luggage and valet service.
  • Greeting all golfing guests and assisting with golf bags, caddies, directions, and parking.
  • Managing the practice facility and the Drumlin putting course.
  • Moving and tracking luggage for overnight guests – arriving and departing.
  • Stocking and maintaining the locker rooms on property.
  • Preparing guests' luggage, golf clubs, and vehicles for departure.
  • Performing all other tasks defined in the golf operations handbook and by MOD.
  • Answering incoming calls and assisting with reservations, confirmations, room need requests, and questions.
  • Understanding and communicating the history, products, and services of the golf course.
  • Selling, processing, and confirming room reservations using selling techniques and strategies.
  • Answering incoming calls within three rings with appropriate greeting.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current course events, activities, and hours of operation as well as dining options currently available.
  • Registering all daily golf guests and providing guests with all facility information.
  • Functioning as a working member of the golf shop staff.
  • Managing the tee sheet, Point of Sale (POS), and all other computer functions.
  • Selling merchandise and being educated in merchandise sales techniques and products.
  • Greeting guests warmly and performing registration procedures.
  • Providing guests with appropriate room assignments, room keys, directions to the rooms, while up-selling when appropriate.
  • Assisting guests with issues and complaints, with empathy and a focus on guest satisfaction.
