About The Position

The Golf Maintenance Technician position at Miami Whitewater Forest Golf Course involves performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep of the golf course grounds, equipment, and facilities. This part-time role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, contributing to the preservation and enhancement of outdoor recreational spaces.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED.
  • 2 years prior work experience in golf course maintenance or grounds/park maintenance.
  • Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various grounds maintenance tasks to golf courses.
  • Apply fertilizer and seed to turf areas.
  • Clear brush and trees.
  • Mow rights-of-way, fairways, greens, and rough areas.
  • Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Water and fertilize plants, prune trees and shrubs, weed flower beds, and perform other gardening tasks as required.
  • Operate a variety of parks and golf course equipment such as dump truck, lawn mower, weed trimmer, chain saw, shovels, and other gardening tools.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and routine preventive maintenance to small gasoline engines in tractors, mowers, pumps, trucksters, trucks, and other equipment.
  • Change oil, lubricate moving parts, check fluid levels, replace belts, and perform other basic mechanical maintenance responsibilities.
  • Repair water and sewer lines and perform minor plumbing and electrical maintenance to park facilities.
  • Make minor repairs to buildings and facilities, including rough carpentry, painting, and sign replacement.
  • Repair cart paths by patching potholes and making other repairs.
  • Pick up litter on golf courses, sweep and mop floors, empty wastebaskets, and perform other custodial duties.
  • Log work performed, problems encountered, parts used, and other information as required.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with Great Parks of Hamilton County's policies, procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of confidential and sensitive information.
  • Work assigned schedule, exhibit regular and punctual attendance, and work outside of normal schedule as required.
