About The Position

The Golf Maintenance Specialist at Foster Golf Links is responsible for maintaining and repairing the golf course and its facilities, ensuring a high-quality golfing experience for the community. This role involves working closely with the Golf Maintenance Superintendent and a dedicated team to perform various skilled activities related to turf maintenance, landscaping, and equipment operation. The position emphasizes professionalism, customer service, and teamwork within the Parks and Recreation Department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Two years of related maintenance experience in the area of assignment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid State of Washington Driver's License.
• Washington State Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator's License.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in golf course maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform turf maintenance activities such as mowing, trimming, fertilizing, aerating, spraying, and repairing turf.
• Develop and design landscaping beds and diagnose landscape problems.
• Perform grounds maintenance activities including trimming, planting, pruning, and maintaining vegetation, shrub beds, and trees.
• Apply pesticides and manage recycling efforts including chipping and mulching.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain structures, playgrounds, fences, tables, and fountains.
• Assemble materials and equipment for service requests and load trucks with supplies.
• Operate vehicles such as flail mowers, backhoes, tractors, and front-end loaders.
• Maintain and perform routine repairs on irrigation systems, including installing and repairing irrigation heads and pipes.
• Maintain sports fields, including planning and scheduling maintenance and preparing field surfaces.
