Golf Maintenance - Section Worker
About The Position
The section worker under the direction of the golf course superintendent and/or supervisor, will safely utilize a variety of hand tools and limited machinery and equipment use, to perform maintenance duties around the golf course and hotel grounds. Responsibilities also includes cleaning equipment after each use, and general cleaning. STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Some requirements may exclude individuals who pose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other employees or guests.
Requirements
- Valid California Driver's license.
- Approachable demeanor: Friendly, team attitude, ability to follow directions and supervision.
- Ability to work early mornings and some weekends/holidays.
- Ability to uphold the standard levels outlined in the departments Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the Ojai Valley Inn Handbook
Responsibilities
- Safely operate golf course maintenance equipment effectively and efficiently.
- Properly fill divots and repair ball marks on greens.
- Properly rake, edge, and perform overall maintenance to bunkers.
- Properly operate walking greens mower.
- Assist with daily maintenance on the golf course, hotel grounds, and maintenance facility. Duties may included but not limited to loading and unloading materials, trimming trees, removing cuttings , laying sod, and drainage/irrigation installation and repair.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
