About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvements of the 36-hole water system at either golf course and is responsible for irrigation of the golf course with minimal supervision. This position will be required to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as well as overtime as needed by the department. This position will be required to work during inclement weather and is considered weather essential personnel.

Requirements

• Require a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one year of experience with golf course irrigation systems is preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to operate computers for data entry and word processing.
• Ability to operate and make minor repairs to a pickup truck, Rainbird Maxi Nimbus master control unit and satellite controllers for water system.
• Ability to repair and overhaul valve in sprinkler heads.
• Ability to operate greens mower, tractor, utility cart and all golf course maintenance equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.

Responsibilities

• Waters golf course.
• Hand waters greens when needed.
• Lubricate pumps.
• Repairs leaks.
• Repairs sprinklers as needed.
• Checks system for leaks.
• Repairs satellite controllers.
• Programs water system.
• Maintains drinking water fountain.
• Maintains proper water level in reservoir.
• Keeps proper inventory of parts for repairs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
