About The Position

Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical defects and failures in various golf course maintenance equipment. This position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The role involves knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment, care and operation of internal combustion engines and mowing equipment, and the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects. The individual must be skilled in the use of equipment repair tools and possess good oral and written communication skills. Maintaining a working relationship with management and co-workers is essential. A valid driver's license is required. This job is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug testing requirements, and a positive drug test will result in a job offer being rescinded or termination for active employees, even if they test positive for marijuana and have a valid medical marijuana license.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate needs or problems relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment to the superintendent and/or the assistant superintendent.
  • Maintain records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment.
  • Purchase repair parts and replacement supplies needed to service equipment.
  • Schedule and direct work assignments.
  • Maintain safety as a top priority.
  • Maintain a clean service area and maintenance building.
  • Instruct and train golf course maintenance workers regarding preventative maintenance and the proper cleaning of the safe operation of equipment.
  • Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment.
  • Keep a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs and preventive maintenance for all equipment.
  • Spot check equipment for performance on the course, make emergency repairs to equipment on the course, and service or supervise servicing of equipment prior to use.
  • Regulate employees' use of equipment in absence of superintendent and assistant superintendent, if needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
