Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent, the Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and preventative service of golf course equipment and machinery. This position ensures that mowers, utility vehicles, and small engines operate safely and efficiently to maintain high course standards. Must be flexible to work up to 28 hours per week, including weekends, weekdays, some evenings, and holidays. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Inspect, diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical defects and failures on golf course maintenance equipment, both in the shop and on the course. Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment including lubrication, oil and filter changes, and inspection of belts, bearings, and hoses. Sharpen, grind, and set mower reels and blades for optimal cutting performance. Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and fuel system issues. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records for all equipment. Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Occasionally assist with mowing duties and other golf course maintenance tasks.
