The Groundskeeper I position covers all facets of the groundskeeper position with an expanded role concentrating on leadership, training, and communication. This position requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, ability to work with and lead a crew as well as work alone, and willingness to want and learn all aspects of golf maintenance. They should have experience as a laborer with an appropriate and developing grasp of course conditioning requirements and the ability to achieve these requirements in the field. The Groundskeeper I position assists the course maintenance staff in day-to-day operations. Performs daily course maintenance responsibilities and is the point of contact for course maintenance staff. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Act as a crew leader when assigned and communicate with a clear understanding of the expectations. Provide feedback throughout projects on progress, staffing, material, and equipment. Adopt the 'culture' of the department in behavior, work ethic, and appearance.
