Under supervision of the Superintendent and the Assistant, the Specialist will be familiar with all maintenance operations that occur on both a day to day and seasonal basis on the golf course and club grounds.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
- Must be detail oriented, accurate and possess good organizational abilities.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and crawl.
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Familiarize with all maintenance operations that occur on both a day to day and seasonal basis on the golf course and club grounds.
- Operate all maintenance equipment and machinery that are utilized in maintaining the golf course and club grounds.
- Assist with irrigation/drainage projects as needed.
- Lead other small projects.
- Assist in training new and less experienced employees with basic tasks such as mowing, bunker maintenance, course setup, and hand watering.
- Accurately perform various fertilizer and chemical applications.
- Operate powered equipment in mowing/maintaining a variety of playing surfaces.
- Assist in fertilization and aerification of greens, tees, and fairways, rough.
- Grade and prepare a soil planting bed, lay sod, plant a variety of vegetative materials.
- Perform daily course set-up to include changing of cups, movement of tee markers, clean-up of tees, trash removal, and bathroom cleanup.
- Assist in spraying of chemicals on a variety of playing surfaces.
- Perform bunker maintenance to include daily raking and rake placement, edging of bunkers, removal of debris and replacement of sand as needed.
- Operate tractors and dump trailers, as well as other light construction equipment in performing project work as needed.
