As a Golf Assistant Mechanic you will support equipment maintenance and repair operations within our Golf Division. This role assists in maintaining golf course maintenance equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and peak performance for daily course operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that supports high expectations for turf quality and course presentation. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with small engines or equipment maintenance
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
  • Willingness to learn equipment maintenance procedures and diagnostic techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with golf course maintenance equipment or landscaping equipment
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanics, small engine repair, or automotive technology
  • Familiarity with reel mowers, turf equipment, or hydraulic systems
  • Basic welding or fabrication skills
  • Organizational skills and ability to maintain clean service records
  • Ability to work collaboratively with golf course superintendents and field teams
  • Interest in pursuing a long-term career in equipment maintenance or golf course operations

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of golf course equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, and small engines
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, lubrication, and filter replacements
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues under the guidance of the Equipment Manager or Lead Mechanic
  • Clean, organize, and maintain the maintenance shop and tools
  • Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, and service records
  • Assist with seasonal equipment preparation and adjustments
  • Follow all safety protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies
  • Communicate equipment issues or concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
  • Support equipment setup and breakdown for tournaments or special events as needed
