About The Position

Amazon Leo aims to revolutionize global connectivity through the development and operation of a state-of-the-art Low Earth Orbit (LEO) interconnected satellite communication constellation. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide by delivering high-speed, low latency, internet services to underserved and unserved communities and remote communities around the world. By leveraging innovative satellite technology, we are working towards a future where everyone has access to reliable and high-quality internet connectivity regardless of their location. Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) Engineering is a multi-disciplinary technology team established to rapidly address the needs of targeted government, enterprise, and international customers for both space-based and terrestrial applications. ALG Engineering collaborates closely with Amazon Leo to leverage the constellation in providing seamless and efficient communication capabilities to meet the needs of our targeted customers. The Systems Engineering, Integration, Test, and Manufacturing organization under ALG Engineering plays a vital role in the entire life cycle of the development of an engineering solution, including architecture development, requirements and interface definition through assembly, integration, and test (AI&T). verification, and post-delivery and operational support. As a member of the SEIT | MFG organization, the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) System Engineer will be responsible for developing system architecture, defining requirements and interfaces, and executing the design, build, integration, test, and verification of space-based and terrestrial GNC subsystems. The candidate will have a background in dynamics, control theory, state estimation, optimization, and have experience with space vehicle communication payloads (RF antennas, optical inter-satellite links). The candidate will have the capability to design algorithms, model dynamics, author both simulation and flight software, perform integration & test, verify requirements and validate on-orbit performance. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working on large-scale programs with a diverse set of talented individuals, as well as with partner organizations (including government agencies). The GNC Engineer must be responsive, flexible, innovative, and able to succeed within a collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
