Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a Guidance Navigation and Control Intern in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will support Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts. The main task is to support development of advanced algorithms for a new IAMD interceptor. Other responsibilities include written and oral communication of the tool(s) developments, operations, and results.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
  • Proficient in either Matlab or Python.

Nice To Haves

  • Foundational proficiency in C++.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform one or more of the following GNC or M&S assignments based on completed course work or professional experience.
  • Strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of advanced algorithms for a new IAMD interceptor.
  • Communicate tool(s) developments, operations, and results both in written and oral formats.
  • Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms.
  • Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations.
