This person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. Requirements

  • Must have a BS degree or above in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
  • U.S. Active DoD Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position therefore, you must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have demonstrated at least a foundational level of proficiency in C++
  • Must have demonstrated at least an intermediate level of proficiency in Matlab or Python
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience: o Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms o Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations o Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.
  • Willing to work onsite in a classified area or lab environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating in Linux environments
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses
  • Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements
  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git
  • Strong written/verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture
  • Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations
  • Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
  • Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
  • Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
  • Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers
