This role will be a valued member of a tight-knit engineering team responsible for a variety of types of GNC (guidance, navigation & control) hardware. Supporting multiple programs within LM Space, this role will focus on GPSR (Global Positioning System Receiver) and IMU (inertial measurement unit) hardware. From procurement, through manufacturing, test, integration and on-orbit operation, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of subject matter experts to learn on the job. This role also includes a significant amount of collaboration with external entities, i.e. customers and suppliers, and may include periods of necessary business travel. Successful applicants generally have at least 1+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with GNC subsystem components and applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Although not required to start, selected candidates will be required to obtain, and maintain, a minimum clearance level of TS/SCI for long-term employment on this program.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or other related engineering degree
  • Familiarity with RF (radio frequency) applications
  • Familiarity with orbital mechanics
  • Familiarity with spacecraft navigation and attitude determination
  • Proficiency in Matlab and STK
  • Experience working with hardware development, including build, test, and integration
