About The Position

Corvid Technologies is seeking qualified Engineering candidates to join their team providing technical contractor support role with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This position will be based in Dahlgren, VA and located at a government facility. The engineer in this position will support navigation and alternative positioning development within the Hypersonics Division of the Integrated Systems Department. The position will play a crucial role in supporting Government and Military personnel to integrate new technology into existing capabilities. Candidate will be a major contributor to developing methods of global positioning, model threat and interceptor trajectories, and provide engineering support for implementation within current Navy systems. Requirements

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related STEM degree) and at least 6 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Monte Carlo analysis, development, and/or simulation of physical systems
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Navigation and timing assessment of flight trajectories
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Digital and/or modern control systems
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: GPS/INS navigation systems, sensors, and algorithms
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) systems, sensors, and algorithms for navigation in GPS degraded environments
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Magnetic or alternative GPS positioning
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and/or object-oriented design experience with GNC and/or Signal Processing algorithms within a simulation or physical environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders and integrate into a blended team of civil servants and contractors

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and optimize effector guidance, tracking, navigation, and estimation algorithms to meet mission objectives
  • Flight trajectories assessment for navigation and timing
  • Assess alternative positioning systems for implementation in currently fielded systems
