Northrop Grumman is seeking a Guidance Navigation Control Engineer or Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer professional located in Chandler, AZ.

Requirements

  • ( T2 - Guidance Navigation Control Engineer ) Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree and 0 years of experience in a STEM discipline
  • ( T3 - Principal Guidance Navigation Control Engineer ) Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with no experience
  • Experience with vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirements analysis in a flight software in simulation environment
  • Experience with C++, MATLAB, and Simulink
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance, or higher

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with rocket motor propelled vehicle trajectory design and customer provided requirement analysis in a flight software in simulation environment.
  • Experience with autopilot and guidance algorithm design and navigation and actuator subsystems
  • Experience with Simulink and the Linux operating system
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher

Responsibilities

  • Support various launch vehicle, target vehicle, and business development programs
  • Design, develop, and implement flight software algorithms to support guidance, navigation, and control functions for the target or launch vehicle
  • Design, develop, and implement simulation software to test and verify mission requirements for the vehicle
  • Navigation functions include the statistical processing of measured data points and their substitution into algorithms simulating physical reality
  • Guidance functions include the formulation of specific equations to achieve a desired position, orientation or orbit in space
  • Control design and analyses processes consist of the development of the control laws and hardware and software requirements for launch vehicles and/or spacecraft
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to report program milestones, technical approaches, and findings to GNC as well as program management
