About The Position

Role Description: Provide support to GMT Pilot Team to support various projects and day to day floor support. Potential projects include start-up and commissioning of equipment, assisting with planning of product test activities, and generation of AI tools to assist project teams. INTERNSHIP TITLE GMT ENGINEERING INTERN Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan Internship Summary: Students’ scope of work may include the following: Work under the direction of GMT and/or Tech Services on process improvements, and problem solving. Assist in the start-up and commissioning of new equipment.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• A positive attitude and strong desire to learn.
• Self-Starter working with minimal supervision.
• Must work well in a Team environment with tight deadlines
• Enrolled in a degree program during the Spring term preceding internship.
• Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies and a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must be physically residing in the U.S for the entirety of the internship.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pilot facility and GMT engineering teams with project tasks.
• Support the manufacturing activities of the GMT pilot facility team and the technical services teams.
• Commissioning and start-up of new pilot manufacturing equipment.
• Generation of AI-based tools for GMT projects.
