The Program Director for a well-established Internal Medicine Residency in Dallas, Texas is responsible for overseeing the educational and administrative functions of the residency program. This role requires strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including physicians, residents, and hospital leadership. The Program Director will also be clinically active as a Hospitalist, balancing administrative duties with patient care responsibilities.

  • Direct and manage the core functions of structure, competency, and accreditation standards as per ACGME.
  • Develop and implement the resident selection process, including establishing interview processes and completing program registration.
  • Identify a designee in administrative, educational, and didactic activities in the Program Director's absence.
  • Develop and implement milestones-linked assessment tools.
  • Organize and participate in resident onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Participate in didactic curriculum, retreats, wellness activities, and other residency events.
  • Deliver effective feedback regularly to all residents.
  • Mentor residents in scholarly and research-related activities.
  • Participate in academic societies and educational programs to enhance educational and administrative skills.
  • Perform additional administrative, clinical, and supervisory functions as defined by the Chief Academic Officer.
  • MD or DO Degree.
  • At least three (3) years of documented educational and/or administrative abilities.
  • Possessing specialty expertise and demonstrated clinical competence as a practicing physician.
  • Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM).
  • Must be appointed, or eligible to be appointed as a medical staff member, with unrestricted credentials within Texas Health Resources.
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Hospitalist.
  • Open to an Associate Residency Director with 2 plus years of experience.
  • Prior experience as a Program Director is preferred.
  • Strong organizational leadership and demonstrated effective leadership capability.
