About The Position

The General Merchandise & Food Sales Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading the General Merchandise and Food Sales team to ensure a consistent experience for guests. This role involves managing operations, inventory accuracy, and guest engagement while providing a fresh and food-safe experience. The Team Leader will execute daily and weekly workloads, assist with product receiving and restocking, and lead a team of hourly team members. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Age 18 or older.
• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
• Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
• Effective communication skills.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
• Assist with daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, and organizing the backroom.
• Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
• Lead food and food services processes, ensuring freshness and reliability for guests.
• Maintain a fresh, full, and food-safe area during all operating hours.
• Ensure proper execution of all Food Safety standards and cleaning routines.
• Conduct team onboarding and training to close knowledge gaps.
• Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions.
• Lead and coach the team to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all GM processes.
• Model a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
