As a General Merchandise Expert at Target, you will be part of a team that ensures a consistent experience for guests by managing product availability, pricing, and presentation on the sales floor. This role involves leading various processes related to General Merchandise and Food Sales, including inbound and outbound operations, inventory management, and guest service. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment, engaging with guests, and executing daily workload to meet business priorities. Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact.
Engage with guests in a genuine way, asking questions to better understand their specific needs.
Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues for guests.
Ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed and priced for guests.
Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom, and signing processes for GM areas.
Follow operational procedures to impact shortage, profitability, and inventory accuracy.
Operate power equipment only if certified.
Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
Work in a safe manner and comply with all safety policies.

Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends and inventory management.
Ability to handle cash register operations accurately.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
