As a General Merchandise Expert at Target, you will be part of a team that ensures a consistent experience for guests by managing product availability, pricing, and presentation on the sales floor. This role involves leading various processes including inbound, outbound, replenishment, and inventory accuracy, while also providing a fresh and food-safe experience in the Food & Beverage and Food Service areas. You will engage with guests, support their needs, and contribute to a welcoming shopping environment. Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact.
Engage with guests in a genuine way, asking questions to better understand their specific needs.
Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues for guests.
Ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed and priced for guests.
Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom, and signing processes for GM areas.
Follow operational procedures to impact shortage, profitability, and inventory accuracy.
Operate power equipment only if certified.
Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.

Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
Work both independently and as part of a team.
Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends and inventory management.
Ability to handle cash register operations accurately.
Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
