The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.   • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
  • Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact.
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way, which includes asking questions to better understand their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.
  • Thank the guest in a genuine way and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.
  • Be knowledgeable of GM areas to ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock and accurately signed and priced for guests.
  • Acknowledge guests as you complete workload with minimal guest disruption; partner with leadership to prioritize daily workload based on business and guest needs.
  • Ensure regular and promotional signing is set accurately for GM categories and be knowledgeable of products in the ad.
  • Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom and signing processes for GM areas.
  • Execute processes including pricing, presentation sets, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.
  • Understand how operational procedures, like planogram (POG) ties, product capacities and salesfloor quantities impact shortage, profitability, in store replenishment and inventory accuracy.
  • Operate power equipment only if certified.
  • Follow processes accurately with attention to detail, monitor own progress.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
  • Attention to detail and follow a multi-step processes.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, and process efficiency and improvement.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) reliable and prompt attendance necessary.
