As a General Merchandise Expert at Target, you will be part of a team that ensures a consistent experience for guests by managing product availability, pricing, and presentation on the sales floor. This role involves leading various processes related to General Merchandise and Food Sales, including inbound and outbound operations, inventory management, and guest service. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment, engaging with guests, and executing daily workload to meet business priorities and sales goals. The position requires a commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical conduct while providing excellent service to guests.

Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
Observe and understand guest needs through body language and verbal cues.
Engage with guests to understand their specific needs and provide solutions.
Ensure sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed and priced.
Execute inbound, replenishment, backroom, and signing processes for GM areas.
Monitor progress and follow processes accurately with attention to detail.
Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
Work in a safe manner and identify hazards to comply with safety policies.

Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
Ability to communicate using multiple frequency devices and operate technology equipment.
Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.

Experience in retail business fundamentals including sales trends and inventory management.
Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and a guest-first culture.
