About The Position

The purpose of the Gluer Operator position is to convert die cut blanks into folded and/or glued finished product. The ultimate goal of this position is to provide a high quality finished product that matches order specifications and to lead the effort in final product inspection prior to shipping Review job/order specifications to determine all specifications (size, style, quantity, allowable over/under, packing cases) needed to make ready and run the job at hand. Check for appropriate size/style approvals and alert Quality Assurance if approvals are not in place. Communicate job order requirements with the gluer crew (feeder, inspector/packers) and provide any specific instructions. Apply proper equipment settings and usage of adhesive (if applicable) to successfully fold/glue die cut blanks. Detect and correct in-process quality issues; alert Quality Assurance of any issues detected. Report raw material usage, including all waste, and production statistics per department work instructions. Complete inspection/checks/review of work in process and finished work. Communicate any issues to management. Communicate job and department status to management; make suggestions/requests for current and future needs. The following Essential Duties apply to all personnel at CCL Specialty Cartons: Adhere to all policies set forth in the Employee Handbook. Understand and participate in departmental housekeeping regulations and requirements. Comply with quality control procedures through in-process inspection/detection/load marking/correction/prevention activities as applicable, and comply with quality system doctrines through adherence to work instructions/policies/procedures. Comply with safety rules and guidelines in all areas of the facility; report unsafe conditions to management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a packaging Finishing environment, with a minimum of 1 year as Gluer Operator.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and resolve machine and folding/gluing issues is required.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • The ability to perform the essential duties listed above is required.
  • Reading, reading comprehension, basic writing, and basic math skills are required.
