About The Position

The Global Vending & Tool Logistics Specialist position is responsible for providing technical sales, training, and engineering support for the sale and marketing of tool vending machine software and hardware, and related tool inventory/logistic projects. Key responsibilities include: Conduct installation and commissioning of digitized tool management and tool vending machines for metal machining and cutting tool products used in manufacturing operations. Develop custom logistics solutions and perform software integration through REST and ODATA APIs for tool vending machines used to enhance a machining/shop floor’s profitability and productivity by integrating into other Sandvik Coromant digital solutions and with the customer’s ERP, MRP and OEE control software. Negotiate contracts and service agreements for vending and tool logistic machines and related projects. Maintain internal databases for the management of customer projects and custom tool vending machine orders. Conduct internal and external customer training and provide technical sales support for metal cutting tool vending machines designed to address customer tool inventory issues. Establish sales targets based on customer and industry type. Promote awareness of Sandvik’s digitized cutting tool inventory management machines and promote sales. Provide technical consultations in response to customer requests and provide on-site training regarding the benefits of the Vending and Tool Logistics (VTL) product offering. Advise customers regarding the product offering and support the Company’s front-line sales in tool logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering and five (5) years of experience as Digital Machining Application Specialist, Digital Machining Application Sales, Cutting Tools Application Specialist, or Global Payment Per Part Specialist for metal cutting tool products.
  • Three (3) of the five (5) years of experience must have included technical sales and training for digital machining and cutting tools used in manufacturing; development of digital tool inventory and logistics products and services for machining process improvement; and providing pricing/quotations for digital machining and cutting tool products.
  • Up to 30% domestic, and up to 30% international, travel required.
  • May telecommute from home in the Alamance, NC MSA up to three (3) days per week.
  • Work location: 1483 Dogwood Way, Mebane, North Carolina, 27302.
