About The Position

The Global Tech Support Engineer 1 at PayPal is responsible for providing technical support to merchants, developers, and internal teams. This role requires a strong understanding of PayPal's products and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues related to payment processing and integration. The position emphasizes building relationships across the organization and requires effective communication skills to assist clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in web development using languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, VB.NET, PHP, or Python.
  • Experience in creating and troubleshooting web services, including SOAP and REST.
  • Basic understanding of firewalls, proxies, HTTP errors, server-side errors, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience with software application debugging and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to PayPal merchants and internal teams via e-ticketing, email, and phone.
  • Identify and resolve technical problems related to network issues, connection errors, and payment processing.
  • Work directly with developers and merchants on post-integration issues, providing consulting and best practices.
  • Install and configure payment APIs and e-commerce products.
  • Conduct test scenarios with code, software, hardware, devices, and endpoints.
  • Communicate technical issues to merchants and internal departments.
  • Identify irregularities in functionality and unexpected behaviors with PayPal products.
  • Develop in-depth technical documents for distribution to merchants.
  • Diagnose and identify issues with APIs, code, services, and network connectivity.
  • Support onboarding of merchants with payment processing solutions.
