About The Position

CEM Corporation (Matthews, NC) is seeking a Global Tax Supervisor to lead global tax compliance, reporting, and strategic planning across domestic and international operations. This role is responsible for managing the company’s global effective tax rate, ensuring compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulations, and monitoring legislative developments that impact the business. The Global Tax Supervisor partners closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver accurate financial insights, support audits, and drive process improvements that ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and support long-term global growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Masters in Taxation with related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in global tax compliance, including income tax, sales tax, VAT/GST, property tax, and business licensure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and Business Central
  • Experience with tax compliance and reporting software, including CCH, Thomson Reuters, ProSystem fx, and UltraTax
  • Strong working knowledge of domestic and international tax regulations, including compliance requirements for foreign subsidiaries
  • Experience managing multi-state filings and related compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge of pass-through entity taxation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate compliance status and risks to leadership

Responsibilities

  • Manage global effective tax rate of CEM Holding Corporation, inclusive of related domestic and foreign subsidiaries
  • Analyze and oversee global filing tax, licensure, bonding, and other governmental filing compliance to ensure continuity of global commerce
  • Proactively analyzing legislative releases, recommending improvement to necessary processes, and executing process transition plans
  • Perform strategic planning of country-of-origin requirements in accordance with international treaties and local country requirements
  • Create detailed and robust financial models in order to communicate accurate and necessary financial impacts to executive team
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual filings including income tax, sales tax, VAT/GST, property tax, and business licensure to ensure corporate compliance
  • Organize and maintain monthly reporting of lease portfolio to analyze financial efficiency and metrics
  • Review transactional entries for accuracy within Microsoft Business Central and perform reconciliations monthly to maintain necessary reporting standards
  • Draft and maintain legal agreements in accordance with evolving international compliance standards
  • Communicate compliance statuses and risks to necessary departmental leaders
  • Research domestic and international legislation and advise on impacts to the business, including foreign subsidiaries
  • Assist with foreign subsidiary compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with the accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and COPS teams to review necessary documentation requirements, proactively, to ensure corporate audit protection
  • Support annual financial audit and any revenue/tax audits that may arise
  • Review and analyze relevant trial balance accounts for monthly reporting accuracy
  • Perform diversified tax and finance assignments
