The Rivian Supply Chain team is looking for highly motivated and exceptional professionals to bring Rivian’s products to life. In this role, the Global Supply Manager will be responsible for assisting in the sourcing and managing raw materials that are the building blocks of the R2, R1T, R1S, and Electric Delivery Vehicles. As a Global Supply Manager, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the awarding of new business, developing strong supplier relationships, and working side by side with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also take the lead in making sure Rivian can meet its cost targets, suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and materials are received at the highest level of quality. In our team, we expect our people to own every aspect of the sourcing process from start to finish and everything in between. This role reports to the Manager of the Raw Materials Purchasing team onsite in Irvine, CA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Google or Microsoft Enterprise software products.
• Strong analytical ability to break down complex problems and data sets to derive meaningful, actionable results
• Comfort in working independently and in teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the strategic sourcing process by ensuring that the product is matched to the right supplier, and they are effective in delivering the product in collaboration with Engineering
• Assist in contractual negotiations with suppliers on Non-disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions and Production Supply Agreements
• Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders while considering market conditions as well as technology roadmaps.
• Perform detailed assessments of supplier quote submissions with should-cost analysis and implement cost reductions on prototype and series production products and services
• Actively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics, plant audits and technical reviews
• Work closely with Program Management to track sourcing progress, execute product kick-off, and manage progress towards vehicle build events
