About The Position

The Rivian Supply Chain team is looking for highly motivated and exceptional Purchasing professionals to bring Rivian’s engineered products to life. In this role, the Global Supply Manager will be responsible for sourcing and managing parts that make up the building blocks of the R1T, R1S, R2, and Electric Delivery Vehicles. As a Global Supply Manager, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the awarding of new business, developing strong supplier relationships, and working side by side with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also take the lead in making sure Rivian can meet its cost targets, suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and parts are received at the highest level of quality. In our team, we expect our people to own every aspect of the sourcing process from start to finish and everything in between. This role reports to the Senior Group Manager of the Body Purchasing, within the Vehicle Team of the Supply Chain Organization onsite in Irvine, California.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Google or Microsoft Enterprise software products
  • Comfort in working independently and in teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail to ensure specifications being requested are received
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automotive, electronics or software/ hardware suppliers is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps
  • Assist with contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA’s, General Terms & Conditions, and Production Supply Agreements
  • Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders
  • Perform detailed analysis of quote submissions based on cost breakdown from data
  • Drive and implement cost reductions on prototype and production vehicles through leveraged negotiations to achieve vehicle cost targets
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics
  • Manage vehicle budget in collaboration with Rivian Finance team
  • Actively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics, plant audits and technical reviews
  • Work closely with Program Management to track sourcing progress, execute product kick-off, and manage progress towards vehicle build events
