As a Global Sr. Field Advisor within the Downstream Chemicals Service Delivery organization, you will provide advanced technical support focused on Water technologies and optimization of related applications worldwide. Serving as a field Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will help customers improve the performance of cooling towers, boilers, wastewater chemical treatment programs, and related operational systems. Your leadership will guide planning, execution, analysis, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant service delivery.

Requirements

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • Have 15+ years of downstream refining experience, including 10+ years of industrial water process or plant experience.
  • Have a strong understanding of cooling water, boiler systems, wastewater treatment plants, and digital technologies, with 10+ years of field, operations, or application support experience.
  • Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
  • Have the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively in both written and oral formats to diverse audiences.
  • Have availability to travel up to 50% of the time and to be on call outside normal business hours as required.
  • Have experience mentoring and developing others through technical guidance and coaching.
  • Have the capability to lead, plan, coordinate, and deliver projects and programs to successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Water technical support for downstream refining and petrochemical accounts globally from pre‑job planning through post‑job performance analysis.
  • Collaborating with Service Delivery, Sales, and Technology to design technical job programs, including risk mitigation and performance optimization strategies.
  • Providing on‑demand recommendations for new and enhanced Water chemical treatment programs and applications.
  • Building strong relationships with customer stakeholders at corporate and field levels to drive adoption and performance results.
  • Identifying opportunities and partnering with field teams to lead technical projects, innovative solutions, and value‑creation initiatives.
  • Representing Baker Hughes in industry forums, conferences, and technical committees.
  • Conducting annual technical audits and health checks for assigned accounts to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
  • Supporting Operations, Technology, and Manufacturing with Water chemistry portfolio needs, including deployment and field validation of new technologies.
  • Delivering technical presentations and training for customers, field personnel, and internal teams.
  • Performing job hazard and incident potential assessments to ensure safe application of Water technologies.
  • Supporting field incident reviews and participating in investigations to ensure end-to-end analysis and corrective actions.
  • Leading special projects and product‑line initiatives and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
