As a seasoned professional, you will own the end-to-end category strategy for our highly technical Light Engine and electronics portfolios. At the manager level, you are expected to operate with high autonomy, transforming complex business needs into a unified, global sourcing direction. Your work will directly impact our business processes and product scaling, ensuring we are not just meeting demand, but anticipating the future. This is a Hybrid role; requiring at least 3 days a week in our Bay Area, CA office.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressively complex experience in strategic sourcing or supplier management (6 years with a Master’s).
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of electronic and module-level cost drivers (complex opto-mechanical assemblies, high performance electronics and advanced materials).
  • Strategic Track Record: Proven success owning a category at scale, including leading complex negotiations and defining long-term cost-down strategies.
  • Communication: Executive presence with the ability to inspire stakeholders and communicate clearly in high-stakes forums.
  • Technical Mindset: A passion for innovation and a desire to use AI and automation to streamline traditional supply chain functions.
  • Work Environment: Hybrid role—3 days onsite at our office in Sunnyvale, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Category Architecture: Own the full lifecycle of the Light Engines, PCBA, Cables, and accessories categories. You will define the long-term business case, supplier selection, and executive alignment, moving the team from reactive fixes to proactive, multi-year roadmaps.
  • Complex Negotiations & Commercial Excellence: Lead high-stakes negotiations for MSAs, NRE, and open-book pricing. You will develop sophisticated cost models and risk-buy frameworks that provide a meaningful impact on the company's bottom line.
  • Supply Chain Resilience & Compliance: Build and scale a global supply base. This includes mapping sub-tier suppliers and raw materials to ensure geopolitical compliance and resilience across the extended chain.
  • Innovation through AI & Automation: Actively identify and implement AI-driven tools or automated workflows to eliminate repetitive manual tracking. You will be a champion for using technology to free up your (and the team’s) time for high-value strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Translate engineering requirements into actionable sourcing plans. You will partner with Engineering, Finance, and Program Management at all levels to ensure our supply readiness aligns with major growth milestones.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: You are a leader on the team. You will proactively mentor team members, share your professional network, and role-model our "Ways of Working" to help uplift the entire Operations organization.
