The role is responsible for daily operations and upkeep of the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) consisting of: Electronic Access Control, Visitor Management, Electronic Key Control, Physical Identity & Access Management, Intrusion Detection, Security Video Surveillance, Security Related Audio, and the respective Monitoring and Control systems and equipment. The primary activities performed by this role include adhering to global policies, procedures, and standards related to the ESS, to include respective vendor and internal stakeholder management. The role reports directly into the Senior Director Global Head of Physical Security Technology.

  • Directly managing all ESS break- fix work, ensuring timely resolution of deficient equipment and systems per established Service Level Agreements (SLA) with applicable vendors, stakeholders, and governance entities.
  • Ensuring completion of Preventative Maintenance Testing (PMT) per established schedules and SLA(s) with applicable vendors.
  • Conducting recurring (ideally weekly) meetings with ESS vendors.
  • Ensure vendor adherence to break - fix and PMT Contact(s), schedules, SLAs, and Physical Security Technology Standards.
  • Conducting recurring (ideally weekly) meetings with respective operations Visa Security Manager(s) (VSM) to ensure that operational needs are documented and resolved to the satisfaction of VSMs.
  • Assist VSMs with the completion of Site Security Surveys (SSS) and resolving gaps and noncompliance items related to ESS found within the SSS, within established resolution schedules.
  • Conducting recurring (ideally bi-weekly) meetings with respective Corporate Services stakeholders, and ensuring 100% visibility of all planned renovations, new construction, and projects affecting Physical Security and associated Technology platforms.
  • Liaise with other stakeholders as needed to promote and educate them on GSS contributions and services, and to provide local support as requested. Stakeholders include, but are not limited to, Legal & Privacy, Human Resources, Information Technology, Information and Cyber Security, Finance and Sourcing, and Audit & Compliance.
  • Ensuring that ESS field device(s) placement and overall operations are in compliance with Physical Security Technology Standards, Security Basis of Design, etc.
  • Participate and support ESS planning, design, bid, construction management, and commissioning at the direction of Global Head of Physical Security Technology who will be accountable and responsible for projects, with the support of the Regional Manager as needed.
  • Submit monthly Key Performance Indicators and Metrics as determined by the Global Head of Physical Security Technology.
  • Ensure resiliency of the role by identifying and mentoring a designated back-up capable of managing the position in the absence of the Regional Manager.
  • Support the roll-out, testing, and maintenance of new or updated technology solutions as necessary to fulfill strategic changes in systems and operations.

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Subject Matter Expertise (5 years’ experience minimum) in Electronic Access Control, Visitor Management, Electronic Key Control, Physical Identity & Access Management, Intrusion Detection, Security Video, Security Audio, and the respective Monitoring and Control technologies and operations.
  • Fundamental level understanding, and at least 5 years’ experience working in information technology and information / cyber security.
  • Fundamental understanding of Project Management.
  • Understanding of SDLC, agile and waterfall frameworks
  • Experience with environment build-out, prep, installs, configuration, integration, maintenance and issue solving.
  • Confidence in working with SCM tools (GIT, JIRA, WIKI, JENKINS)
  • Understanding of SaaS Operational model concepts: SLI, SLO, SLA, Latency, Disaster Recovery, OpenAPI/Swagger, API Gateway, Retention, Active-Active, Data Protection, Subnets, TLS, SAML, Web Proxy, Failover, Replication, Encryption, DB Schema, CDN, WAF, etc.
  • Understanding of cloud designs and potential work-around scenarios to mitigate client impact

  • Security Remediation processes (vulnerability assessment and patch management)
  • Proven track record on risk management decisions balancing a low tolerance for risk with the need to deliver complex business solutions
  • Working knowledge and experience in using various database technologies such as, but not limited to: MS-SQL, MongoDB, Postgres and Oracle.
  • Experience working with containerized platforms (Kubernetes).
  • Any experience/knowledge of the following: Application Servers (Websphere, Jboss, Wildfly, Tomcat, RHELv8/9), open source frameworks (Spring and Hibernate ORM, OpenJDK), Windows, Unix and Eclipse, IntelliJ, Nginix.
  • Basic understanding of Oauth, OIDC, SAML
  • Customer Relations and Leadership Skills: Ability to manage a diverse range of internal stakeholders, as well as participating on cross functional project teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in developing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting solutions.
  • Strong presence and the ability to influence and build credibility as a "trusted advisor" with leadership from regional functions and geographies.
  • Strong time management, organizational planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • American Society for Industrial Security CPP or PSP, or International Information System Security Certification Consortium CISSP certifications, desirable.
