About The Position

Join Global Project & Planning Management as a Research Global Project Manager and you’ll act as a leader and facilitator of Global Project Teams, articulating strategy and execution, on projects in Research till pre-clinical Development. The Research GPM drives activities across core team members to ensure alignment, develops scenario alternatives, identifies risks and mitigation plans, and manages variances in timing, resources and budget and ensures project quality. The Research Global Project Manager (GPM) is the only one together with the Research Project Head (PH) to have a wide scope going from Research to pre-clinical Development requiring a deep knowledge of the contributions across all functions (Research, Pre-Clinical Safety, DMPK, CMC, early Clinical, Regulatory, New Product Planning, Commercial…) along the value chain and involved stakeholders, but also of the science and technical aspects to be able to implement and optimize the project strategy. Requirements

• Experience in drug discovery field and good understanding of current pharmaceutical and drug development processes.
• Sound understanding of the immune inflammation therapeutic area would be beneficial.
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal communication, stakeholder management and influence skills to partners across the organization to positively impact business results
• Master communication tools and all channels of communication (from face to face, writing to remote video) and strategize communication methods
• Strategic and critical thinking to propose strategies and challenge the status quo.
• Natural motivator who fosters collaboration and drives results including adaptable mindset with enthusiasm for implementing new tools and approaches
• Solid project management and planning skills: Planning, Resources & Costs
• Good knowledge of a planning tool (Planisware preferred)
• Strong risk management and problem-solving skills including project termination when necessary
• Proven ability to manage and operationally lead complex, matrixed drug discovery and development projects through governance processes
• Change management and strategic planning skills
• "All-in" on AI: Digital-native mindset with passion for pioneering the integration of AI-powered tools and automation into every aspect of project management (digital fluency)
• Master’s or PhD in Science, and 10+ years experience in biotech/pharma industry
• 5+ years industry experience managing or leading R&D projects.
• Fluent in English (verbal and written communication)

Nice To Haves

• Business education and/or qualifications such as MBA or professional project management qualification such as PMP® would be of additional benefit
• Sound understanding of the immune inflammation therapeutic area would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the definition project strategy and lead its translation into a realistic, robust and ambitious plan
• Drive the execution of the functional operational plan across functions in terms of timeline, resources, budget and quality
• Lead the risk management process encompassing proactive risk identification, quantification (probability and impact), risk strategy definition and mitigation plans including alternative and back-up strategies
• Foster appropriate communication in close collaboration with all stakeholders, functions and platforms as needed. This includes project vision, reports and timely alerts.
• Lead all relevant project documentation such as governance presentations, Blueprints, budget proposals and centralized project dashboards in partnership with units and platforms and other planning actors.
• Lead and facilitate decision making within the team environment and drive project stage gate reviews through governance committees
• Co-lead and motivate the team to be high performers
• Drive digital innovation and be an AI-forward champion with a digital-first mindset to proactively implement cutting-edge AI and digital tools to revolutionize project management practices and to enhance operational efficiency
