About The Position

The Global Project Head (GPH) for Vaccines at Sanofi is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the research and development of innovative vaccine projects. The GPH will lead cross-functional teams to identify new target opportunities and execute endorsed research projects, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. This position requires a strong scientific background and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while delivering high-value projects efficiently.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. (in a science field), MD or Pharm D., with at least 5-8 years of experience in vaccine R&D or equivalent experience in the Vaccine Value Chain.
  • Strong scientific background with excellent understanding of global vaccine development activities.
  • Strategic thinking and leadership abilities combined with understanding of science, technologies, and business of biopharmaceutical product development.
  • Performance-oriented with ability to work along agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Ability to evaluate new internal & external opportunities (technology, new vaccines, targets, mAbs, enabling sciences).
  • Good networking ability in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to connect dots between functions and data/ideas from internal/external experts.
  • Experience leading cross-functional groups of professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure understanding of opportunities & challenges by senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to foster collaborative practices and inspire people.
  • High sense of responsibility and fairness, securing unbiased recommendations.
  • Fluent English communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a global and transversal team of Subject Matter Experts to deliver high value creating projects.
  • Defend the project strategy at governance boards, including scientific review and investment decisions.
  • Manage multiple internal and external stakeholders, including at executive levels.
  • Provide input into team member performance reviews.
  • Foster and implement internal or external innovation solutions for the development of First in Class/Best in Class Vaccines.
  • Collaborate closely with Innovation and Ext R D, Antigen Design, Global Immunology Functions, and the mRNA Center of Excellence.
  • Stay informed on state-of-the-art approaches for vaccine development and competitive pipeline assessments.
  • Secure IP strategy and integrated scientific communication.
  • Develop integrated strategy & development plan and ensure effective execution through the project team.
  • Build and maintain aligned strategy with external partners.
  • Ensure appropriate interactions with regulatory authorities.
  • Articulate and monitor risk-mitigation plans.
  • Resolve resource & budget issues to meet project objectives.
