As a Project Finance Manager at AstraZeneca, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business strategy and financial decision-making within the biopharmaceutical sector. This position is designed for an experienced finance professional who possesses a deep understanding of how finance strategies align with business objectives. You will be part of a global Project Finance team that supports Early Global Product Teams (GPTs) and senior governing bodies in making informed R&D project and portfolio decisions. Your contributions will be highly visible, providing you with direct exposure to senior management and the opportunity to influence key business issues that affect the Group's performance and strategic initiatives. In this multifaceted role, you will support the business in making investment decisions that advance the product pipeline, manage development costs, and facilitate key portfolio and post-deal management processes. As a member of several Early Product Teams, you will serve as the primary point of contact for finance-related queries, providing proactive and innovative financial analysis and scenario modeling to help teams assess the cost and value impact of critical project decisions, including clinical trial design and associated costs. You will ensure that all investment decisions are backed by a robust financial case and will lead the preparation of financial sections for governance body papers, such as those presented to the Early Stage Portfolio Committee. Your responsibilities will also include briefing senior finance leaders ahead of key decision points, delivering post-deal management finance support for external agreements, and collaborating with TA Finance Directors to monitor R&D spending and assess the impact of any changes to project development assumptions. You will support the month-end close analysis and the quarterly forecast process, ensuring that asset valuations and forecasts are up to date. Additionally, you will undertake ad hoc project work aimed at improving the working practices of the Project Finance team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in financial management.
