About The Position

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and management of Process Safety for Huber Engineered Materials (HEM) and Huber Engineered Woods (HEW), ensuring that industrial operations are conducted safely by minimizing hazards and risks associated with processes, particularly those involving hazardous materials or with process safety incident potential. The ideal candidate will lead Process Safety Management (PSM) programs for both HEM and HEW and drive PSM risk to acceptable levels, actively participate in risk assessments, major project teams, and PSM investigations, and develop policies, procedures, standards, and technical references appropriate to the nature and scale of HEM and HEW operations.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant and progressive experience in PSM.
  • Experience with various Process Unit Operations.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Operations EH&S, and Reliability, Networking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional leadership and guidance for PSM within both HEM and HEW.
  • Develop and implement programs and processes to ensure technical competency.
  • Establish standards and best practices to guide engineers and PSM resources.
  • Work with functional leaders to ensure process safety is designed into capital projects.
  • Work with the Platform Engineers to share Lessons Learned, Best Practices, and drive improvements in the Global PSM Program.
  • Implement the JMH Risk-Based Management philosophy across PSM and engineering at each plant site.
  • Provide expertise in the area of process safety systems, testing protocols, and risk mitigation.
  • Implement and manage process safety programs in conjunction with JMH Safety & Sustainability teams.
  • Serve as global subject matter expert on the process safety management aspects of the Huber Sustainability Management System (HSMS).
  • Lead Process Hazard Analysis studies and ensure a 5-year re-validation plan is in place.
  • Support the executions and revalidation of Site Level Risk Assessments.
  • Develop and implement process safety management auditing protocols.
  • Actively track corrective action plans to address hazard analysis findings.
  • Develop and assist locations in the implementation of process safety standards.
  • Provide expertise in the selection of safety critical equipment.
  • Interface with insurance companies regarding protection and mitigation systems.
  • Lead and/or participate in investigations involving process safety incidents.
  • Compile monthly metrics and prepare monthly reports.
  • Support the PSM global training plan.
  • Maintain process safety related documents and updates risk reduction factors.
  • Make recommendations to Safety and Sustainability Leadership team regarding resources and capabilities.
  • Identify, lead and develop talent to support current business needs.
