About The Position

The Global Policy and Operational Systems Manager leads global policy, compliance, and operational systems for Company Vehicle Operations (CVO). This role includes overseeing company-owned vehicle programs, related initiatives and processes, driver communications (including the CVO website), and end-to-end governance of the Enterprise Company Vehicle Management System (eCVMS). The role is accountable for enabling safe, compliant, and efficient company vehicle operations globally through clear policies, robust systems and controls, and strong cross-functional partnerships.

  • Bachelor’s degree (Law, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Compliance/Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline)
  • 10+ years of experience in policy, compliance, risk management, investigations, or closely related field
  • Supervisory experience including leading direct reports
  • Demonstrated policy and communications writing experience (e.g., policy documents, handbooks, communications, website content).

  • Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, or MS in Law, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, Compliance/Risk, or a related discipline)
  • Supervisory experience including leading global reports
  • Knowledge of global company vehicle operations programs, policies, procedures, and processes
  • Demonstrated experience with: eCVMS and SharePoint (including governance of sites, content, and permissions) Managing SOX/internal controls, audits, or compliance programs related to asset or inventory management systems
  • General understanding of GM IT Change Management process and how to manage system changes

Responsibilities

  • Lead global policy and operational system development, including the creation and maintenance of policies, communications, forms, websites, handbooks, and related materials that support global company vehicle programs and operations
  • Oversee compliance operations, directing a team responsible for adherence to CVO policy requirements and operational controls, including: Safe Driving and driver policy compliance Company Vehicle Tagging and inventory visibility Annual Physical Inventory (API) and related controls SOX and internal control requirements tied to eCVMS and vehicle inventory User access governance and periodic access audits for eCVMS and related tools
  • Drive strategic initiatives and program enhancements to improve processes, elevate the customer experience (driver and business partner), and strengthen operational effectiveness across regions
  • Provide leadership and direction to a global team, guiding individuals across multiple countries who share similar functional responsibilities (policy, systems, compliance, communications) to ensure consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Build and manage strong cross-functional partnerships with HR, Legal, Risk Management, Tax, IT, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment, collaboration, and successful program execution
  • Collaborate with teams to identify issue and root causes, develop and implement corrective action plans; and drive continuous improvement in both policy and system execution
  • Oversee development and distribution of key monthly metric reports, including incident trends, safe driving metrics, inventory counts, and other KPIs used by leadership to manage company vehicle risk and performance
