Your responsibilities will include supporting, developing, and helping manage high impact programs through your knowledge of Networking & Compute infrastructure, architecture, products,  Manufacturing and services as it relates to the Hyperscale datacenter customer and business ecosystem.Detailed DescriptionThe Customer Product (Vertical) Engineering Director is assigned to a specific global business unit as the primary focal for Global Product Manufacturing Process Alignment. This role involves customer-internal strategic technical engagement and managing special projects across product portfolios within a large hyperscaler account. As the owner of Global Product Technical Alignment, duties include aligning Manufacturing Processes, Quality Management, Test, Failure Analysis (FA), and Equipment/Resource Capability across global manufacturing sites. The individual manages major projects with large financial impacts and influences customer satisfaction for $5B+ annual revenue in the Service Provider business unit. While projects are often customer-specific, they may also be strategic to the broader business and applied across multiple customers. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Regularly interacts with Customer and Internal Sr. Management and engineering teams across global sites; involves high-level presentations, collaboration, and influencing senior stakeholders. Establishes long-term technical strategic relationships with customers. Aligns Process, Quality, Test, and FA Operations across multiple manufacturing sites. Collaborates with senior managers to establish strategic technical, equipment capacity, and capability plans. Leads internal and customer teams to organize the Annual Technical Roadshow, a key metric for the Customer Scorecard and demonstration of roadmap alignment. Supports NPI Directors and Technical Program Managers on major product launches or site/product transfers (phase gate reviews, ramp/resource readiness, etc.). Simulates the customer’s point of view in all internal activities. Develops strategies, policies, and methods to analyze difficult situations or establish new strategic directions. Identifies technical influencers and key decision-makers to maintain close stakeholder relationships. Removes technical hurdles to successfully close opportunities and product manufacturing operations. Collaborates with leadership to develop new products and services. Manages customer technical perceptions and the overall relationship process. Assists in responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs. Conveys customer requirements to Product Management and Technology teams. Works with site teams to plan and monitor technical activities, ensuring project deliverables meet requirements and schedules. Oversees manufacturing readiness reviews and contract execution; hosts regular program tracking meetings for status reporting. Monitors internal plans to meet customer commitments and schedules. Acts as a customer advocate to drive prioritization of projects and problem resolution. Participates in pricing/bid preparation and contract management to ensure technical compliance. Analyzes technical program development performance relative to targets and implements corrective plans as needed. Supports sales in account planning and strategy development.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, schedules, and scheduling requirements, along with relevant Supply Chain issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of the business issues associated with manufacturing PCBs, L6 to L11 level assemblies in the communication and datacenter business.
  • Understanding of business risks and pricing structure for CM/ODM business
  • Excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Fosters, promotes and facilitates cross-selling of Celestica wide products, services and capabilities.
  • Leverage external partnerships as needed(i.e. ASIC suppliers) to augment current capabilities and to enhance value proposition and market competitiveness
  • Acts as a customer advocate to ensure that the organization remains customer-focused.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with 3rd party ASIC suppliers, customers, and Celestica
  • Product Line Marketing throughout the technology evaluation and implementation process as needed
  • Good presentation, database management and computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple, detailed projects to a successful end while working under tight customer deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Provides high value industry knowledge and consulting to customers on IT technology, architecture, products and services.

  • Minimum 10 - 12 years of technology related engineering/marketing and business development experience.
  • Technical degree (ie. BS ME, BS EE, BS Computer Engineering) required
