The Global Mobility Business Partner – Americas & Varian is responsible for advising leaders and HR partners on mobility strategy, managing international assignments and transfers, and ensuring an exceptional employee experience across the Americas region. This role combines strategic consulting, operational oversight, vendor management, and program improvement to support key business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, law, economics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with international companies or consultancy, in the field of Global Mobility program management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the relevant immigration, tax, social security challenges in our main markets (USA, Germany, Canada etc.) and how they impact each other.
  • Experience with HRMS systems, specifically Workday and ServiceNow.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.

  • Experience with process optimization and improvement is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary global mobility business partner and strategic advisor to senior leaders, HRBPs, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Legal and Tax, offering insights and guidance on short- and long-term international assignments, cross-border implications, immigration and tax considerations, and recommended approaches.
  • Lead and manage international assignments for the Americas region, overseeing pre‑assignment offer components (including compensation, benefits, assignee’s packages etc.), cost projections, based on existing global mobility programs, in close collaboration with key stakeholders, while maintaining a strong emphasis on delivering an exceptional employee experience.
  • Manage and oversee end‑to‑end international permanent transfers across the Varian business area globally, ensuring the program remains current, competitive, and optimized, while overseeing timely vendor engagement and maintaining accuracy in all related billing processes.
  • Closely partnering and collaborating with internal and external vendors/providers, ensuring high quality service.
  • Conduct regular audits of international payroll-impacting data, verifying accuracy of compensation and allowances across systems.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance mobility programs, optimize, streamline business mobility-related processes within HRMS systems (including Workday and Service Now), and elevate the overall mobility experience.
  • Lead and support cross-functional projects, including M&A-related mobility workstreams.
  • Design and deliver training on global mobility programs for HR teams, managers and other stakeholders.
