As the Global Mobility, Benefits & Compliance People Partner and reporting directly to Sr. Director, People Operations, you will own the programs that ensure Illumio’s workforce is supported, protected, and compliant as we scale globally. In this role, you will manage the end‑to‑end administration of U.S. benefits; lead immigration and mobility workflows for U.S. and international employees; oversee our expanding Employer of Record (EOR) program; and support Illumio’s People compliance and risk posture. You will partner closely with HRIS, Legal, Finance, Security, IT, and the broader People Team to elevate operational excellence and deliver a seamless employee experience. We are seeking a detail‑oriented, execution‑focused operator with deep experience in benefits, mobility, and compliance - someone who embraces complexity, anticipates risks, and drives scalable, global solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in People Operations, Benefits Administration, Global Mobility, or related HR operations roles; experience in high‑growth SaaS strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. benefits, leaves, and accommodations, with hands‑on administration experience.
  • Experience managing U.S. and global immigration workflows and partnering with external counsel on case management.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential employee data and sensitive employment matters with exceptional judgment, discretion, and professionalism, including immigration cases, accommodations, leaves, investigations, and separation‑related information, in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company confidentiality standards.
  • Prior oversight of Employer of Record (EOR) workers/programs required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of global compliance frameworks (GDPR, SOC2, ISO) and audit preparation.
  • Experience generating insights using HRIS reporting tools; Workday experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast‑paced environment with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • SHRM‑CP/PHR, GMS (Global Mobility Specialist), or data privacy certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day employee benefits inquiries, partnering with the Sr. Benefits Program Manager on escalations.
  • Support the administration of all U.S. benefits programs including health, welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefits.
  • Manage benefits PO and invoice processing with Finance.
  • Partner with our leave management vendor and oversee leaves of absence, accommodations, and disability programs, ensuring accurate and compliant administration.
  • Support U.S. new hire benefits onboarding and annual Open Enrollment, including Workday configuration, testing, and documentation.
  • Coordinate new hire and termination notifications with international vendors to ensure timely benefits cessation and compliance with local regulations
  • Prepare and support compliance deliverables (e.g., 5500s, non‑discrimination testing, carrier audits, government filings).
  • Monitor and audit benefit enrollments, life events, terminations, and dependent eligibility processed by vendors.
  • Maintain accurate benefits content across internal communication channels and external resources.
  • Manage day‑to‑day U.S. immigration program operations in partnership with external counsel, including case initiation, extensions, mobility eligibility, and employee communication.
  • Manage global mobility requests including relocations, visa strategies, and business travel compliance.
  • Support People Operations compliance programs including GDPR, SOC2, ISO, and other global standards.
  • Execute control testing, documentation updates, and audit readiness in partnership with Legal, Security, and IT.
  • Conduct risk assessments for People processes and partner on mitigation plans.
  • Maintain global People policy documentation, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Strengthen governance through process documentation, SOP development, and effective change management.
  • Identify gaps across benefits, mobility, and compliance workflows and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Drive operational excellence by reviewing downstream system and process impacts and aligning with partner teams.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders; serve as a trusted advisor on global mobility, benefits, and compliance matters.
  • Project‑manage implementation of new programs, system enhancements, or regulatory changes.
  • Support cross‑functional People Operations projects and other initiatives as needed.
