About The Position

ROLE SUMMARY The Global Medical Director, Talazoparib/Prostate Cancer, is an integral member of the Global Medical Talazoparib and Prostate Cancer Team. The Global Medical Director partners cross-functionally with medical teams, platform functions, health and value functions, clinical development, legal, compliance and commercial teams to plan, execute and support activities. The incumbent collaborates directly with regional and country medical teams to understand major unmet medical needs and the medical environment including HCP and patient perspectives, regulatory and access dynamics at the country level and integrate needs and insights to co-create global medical plans. The Global Medical Director is particularly responsible for the co-development and implementation of integrated launch plans and leads on the development and execution of Global Medical launch strategies for Talazoparib in the prostate cancer indications. The Global Medical Director, Talazoparib/Prostate Cancer, provides deep therapeutic area expertise with firm Medical judgment and proven abilities in the objective interpretation and application of Medical and scientific data. The incumbent serves as an asset expert to Medical and cross-functional teams and plays a key role in understanding the external healthcare ecosystem through peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. The position has high visibility internally and externally and broad impact across the organization and requires a Medical professional with a robust understanding of pharmaceutical business operations and products, along with strategic thinking skills, leadership ability, and extensive knowledge of the external healthcare/therapeutic ecosystem. The Global Medical Director will lead with integrity and be a role model for Medical professionalism and scientific excellence.

Requirements

  • PhD or PharmD required
  • PharmD or PhD with 5 or more years of applicable experience pharmaceutical oncology industry experience required
  • Knowledge of global healthcare ecosystem (i.e., stakeholder landscape, competitive dynamics, regulatory environment, healthcare delivery systems, reimbursement and access landscape, etc.)
  • Knowledge of drug development from early stage to commercialization
  • Very strong communications and relationship building capacity with ability to listen, understand internal and external needs
  • Very strong presentation skills suitable for global leadership and external audiences
  • Comfort with ambiguity, and complex “white space” environments.
  • Ability to embrace and encourage the implementation of innovative ideas and foster a culture of collaboration/teamwork.
  • Medical writing/scientific publication experience (academia or industry) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise and capabilities in matrixed organizations and influencing without authority
  • Ability to plan and chair advisory boards with international key opinion leaders
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and demonstrates ability to prioritize and make decisions to maximize value and resource allocation
  • This is a hybrid role requiring you to live within commuting distance and work on-site an average of 2.5 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Deep data and disease area expertise in prostate cancer and a robust understanding of the asset’s value for patients, caregivers, HCPs, regulators, and payers
  • Implementation and execution of the global integrated launch plan in partnership with the cross-functional launch asset team (Commercial, Access, others); contribute to Medical strategy implementation and supervise the global Medical budget for the area of responsibility
  • Collaborate with key markets to understand local needs, provide expertise and support to regional and country colleagues, integration of field & country medical feedback to evolve and maintain an impactful Medical strategy.
  • SUpport the development of scientific narratives, analyses, publications and cross-functional workstreams, providing patients’ and physicians’ perspectives
  • Contribute to the Medical landscape development strategy
  • Represent Pfizer Medical externally appropriately on a peer-to-peer basis with highest scientific standards and respective communication skills
  • Lead and support global external meetings including advisory boards, congresses, and symposia
  • Lead on evidence dissemination and education activities
  • Actively participate in and represent the team in various internal exchange forums
  • Diligent management of resources
